We always get a ton of questions about what' going on in the market. We are here today to tell you exactly what has been happening lately in the Idaho Falls real estate market.
The metric that people look at when deciding what kind of market we are in (buyer's, seller's, etc.) is our inventory. People look at how many homes are out there and available for every buyer that is looking, and right now, that figure sits at 5.4. This means that for every home buyer out there looking for a home, there are 5.4 available homes. This may sound like a lot, but it actually puts us in a balanced market. Anything from 5-7 is usually classified as a balanced market.
Right now is a perfect time to get in the market, for buyers and sellers alike. As far as interest rates go, they are still remaining near historic lows. They crept up a bit the past few months, but have since plummeted to below 4% in some areas, which is amazing. They won't be staying this low for long, however, so taking advantage of them while you can is a good idea.
